As much as being pregnant was a surprise, so was Marina’s diagnosis. We received confirmation a few days after her birth that she had Down’s Syndrome. She remained in the hospital for the first 3 weeks of her life, and has had a number of other medical issues and hospital stays during these first 3 years of her life. As challenging as it’s been at times, we’re very thankful for all the amazing healthcare workers, therapists, and fellow “Lucky Few” families we would not have otherwise met.

Marina is just another sassy, funny, 3 year old who has brought a light to our lives that we didn’t know we needed. Her signature smile is infectious, making it impossible not to smile back. The world is a brighter and more joyful place because of this extraordinary little girl!
