Mother of Pearl pendant with small CZ stone.

My sweet boy born 6 years ago came much earlier than I anticipated. In God’s timing and not our own. Isaac Azariah was born at 29 weeks and 5 days (a little over 10 weeks early). His name means laughter and the one whom God helps. He was 2 pounds and 3 ounces and considered a micro-premie baby. Thankfully he continued to grow well in NICU and we were able to do kangaroo care where we held him daily or a few times a day skin to skin. Around 3 weeks old did the doctor asked about testing his genetics for Down Syndrome. Truth be told, I saw his DS much earlier but said nothing. I had thought, “He came early, that’s enough - or maybe he just hasn’t grown enough because he was early.” The doctor had the test done and confirmed a few days later that Isaac has Down Syndrome. After being able to absorb everything, the Lord gave us a great peace and deeper sense of thankfulness that we even have the blessing of Isaac as our son. He spent 14 weeks in the NICU and came home Christmas eve 2016 after his gtube was placed for his feeding.

My precious boy does have DS.. I knew some things about DS but little did I know that I was going to read so much research to really learn what it meant for the body to have extra genes in every cell. He was on mostly tube feeds his first year of life. At ten months he has Infantile Spasms - seizure clusters. We believe they came from the toxins from routine immunizations which were first given in NICU which really should never happen. By God’s grace we caught the seizures early and they were treated quickly with no recurrence. We did a full diet change, heavy metal detox, and started supplemental therapy to help his body. We use a variety of supplements called Targeted Nutrition Intervention (TNI) http://trisomy21research.org/the-basics/  to help lower the over-expressed certain genes and help various body processes like digestion and detoxification. It can be considered controversial but I believe this is one of the best ways in supporting the body to function as best as we can which will lead to more success in all areas of life. We want to help Isaac continue to grow and learn each day and also help his body

Our support for Isaac that comes from friends and family - we call Isaac’s Anchors. This was also his team name for a few buddy walks over the years too. We have found that he is helped by various stones / crystals like blue lace agate so the small crystal to represent his empowering voice in hopes for more verbal communication.

My son continues to learn and grow. He attends Kindergarten and sometimes does behavior therapy and physical therapy.  Isaac is a 6 years old who love being outside and going on adventures. He is opinionated & feels the ranges of emotions and is not always happy or joyful. He can be sad or mad or confused too. He is finding his voice to communicate to us what he would like and where he wants to go. We are teaching him to use words and use American Sign Language. He is a big brother! His little sister is 2 and a half and she loves him so much.  Isaac loves music, playing with cars, rolling a ball, bubbles, and swinging on a swing at a park. He is learning to communicate better, eat more textures, walk better unassisted and where we want him to go, share toys with friends, and color.

Our vision, our prayer and hope for Isaac is for him to develop the skills needed to become independent and to prosper in anything that he will pursue in life.
