Our miracle Giovanni Isaiah meaning God is gracious,God is salvation. Gio was born at 26 weeks 5 days was in the NICU for a little over 3 months, had surgery at 2 days old to have a colostomy bag. After 3 weeks we unexpectedly were told he had Down syndrome, that day his nurse gave us the “Welcome to Holland poem“ she herself had a child with down syndrome and said she had only one piece of advice for us, which was to not hold Giovanni back just because of diagnosis. Gio has had 5 surgeries, multiple procedures and went through chemotherapy treatment due to precursors to wilms tumor within the last year. He has been through so much yet he will always have a big smile on his face! Giovanni was exactly what our family needed, he is our strength!
