Callum John Necklace
CZ stones and gold filled pendant.
When we received Callum's prenatal Down Syndrome diagnosis we were devastated. The life we had pictured for our child, and our family, changed drastically with a phone call. We kept a positive outlook, but it took time for us to grieve the life we'd imagined and process the new direction our life would take. But we knew that regardless of his diagnosis, he would be loved and supported like no other.
Callum was born in February 2021, and at 7 months he underwent surgery to repair his heart. His development has really taken off since his recovery, and he works twice as hard for every milestone he reaches.
Cal is quite the charmer. He takes his time assessing new people, but once he's comfortable his personality pours out of him, and his happiness is infectious. Get a good beat going, and there is no stopping that body from moving!
I can't imagine our family without Cal. He completes us. Our life will be different in wonderful ways we never could have imagined. We've met so many phenomenal Doctors, therapists, and other special needs families that we wouldn't have known if Cal was born without his extra chromosome. There are still so many unknowns in our future that give us fear, but the love and support of our family, friends and DS community, give us confidence that we will be able to navigate anything thrown our way. We are Proud to be members of the Lucky Few!
We picked this necklace because Cal loves pointing to the stars and his face lights up when he sees them. When the weather is nice, we take the boys out to look at Luna and the stars before bedtime, a ritual we’ve come to cherish.
