I am so very honored to debut the “Riley Necklace” in collaboration with the very talented Wells Cooperative. This necklace was designed with the popular poem “Welcome to Holland” in mind.. the tulip represents Rileys beauty as well as the beauty in all others with Down Syndrome.

When I received the news of Riley’s possible Down Syndrome prenatally I cried for what I thought I was losing because of the way the news was delivered.. as if it was a terrible awful condition.. they suggested I get an amnio in case I would like to terminate. That was not an option.. it hurt me that they would even suggest that. I just couldn’t fathom their reasoning.. why? HOW is my baby not worthy of life?

Fast forward to October 11, 2019 at 12:15 am, Riley came into this world via emergency induction. We had a week stay in the NICU & also a diagnosis of an AVSD heart defect that would need surgery.. since her heart got the repair it needed, she has soared.. meeting all of her milestones!

Riley has opened up a whole new world for our family.. her smile can warm even the coldest heart, her determination is nothing short of extraordinary! She IS Riley.. she HAS Down Syndrome and she is BEAUTIFUL just like the tulips in Holland.
