Ezra Necklace

Our little Ezra was born on October 6th 2021 at 37 weeks. The next day he failed his hearing test and the amount of oxygen in his hands did not match his feet. He was transferred to the NICU where he would stay for the next 5 weeks. My husband and I took a genetics test which confirmed his Trisomy 21 diagnosis. I kept meditating on Psalm 139:14-Ezra is fearfully and wonderfully made and Psalm 73:26-my flesh and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Ezra came home with oxygen 24/7 and an NG tube. A few months later Ezra had to be readmitted for laryngomalacia, silent aspiration, and severe sleep apnea. After getting a double surgery of a supraglottoplasty (lasering off some extra tissue out of his throat) and a G tube placed in, he was brought back home where he would slowly but surely grow stronger and thrive. He has shown us repeatedly that he is resilient and so strong no matter what comes our way.
